Hello everyone, today's update covers a few important things — we're reworking the Android controls based on your feedback from last Friday, shipping a number of game fixes, and I want to be transparent about player support and my presence in-game. Full details below.

Android Update

Last week we looked into some performance issues on the Android client based on player feedback — one of the main complaints was a perceived delay when walking or interacting with objects. The fix I landed on was to fire the walk/interact request as soon as the user touches the screen, rather than waiting for them to lift their finger. This felt snappy enough that I went ahead and changed camera rotation to a two-finger gesture to avoid conflicts.

Based on the feedback since Friday, clearly many of you preferred the old controls, and it was my mistake to not offer a settings toggle from the start. I apologise for the frustration this caused during your weekend gaming sessions.

Today's update fixes that.

You now have full control over how touch input works by choosing a Walk Mode:

Finger Up — the old behaviour. Your walk or interaction registers after you lift your finger off the screen.
Finger Down — the fastest option. The request is sent as soon as you touch the screen.

When using Finger Down, you can adjust the Walk Tap Delay setting, which controls how long the app waits for additional touches or gestures before sending the action. Setting it to 0–25ms gives the fastest reaction, but two-finger gestures like camera swipe or zoom will require precise timing to register correctly.

Tip: For the absolute best click responsiveness, set Walk Tap Delay to 0 and use the volume buttons for camera rotation instead of touch gestures.

One-finger camera control is available only when using the Finger Up setting.

Android changes

  • Added settings for two-finger or one-finger camera gesture controls
  • Simplified camera swipe speed options
  • Reskinned the Keyboard button
  • Refined setting descriptions

Client changes (Desktop and Android):

  • Made sleeping captcha more friendly to colourblind players

Player Support & My Presence In-Game

Some of you have been asking where I am, why certain questions go unanswered, or why I'm not available for discussion in-game.

This past week I've been quite busy covering my day job, taking care of the server, and managing family life. I've also noticed that when I get into conversations in-game, I often get pulled into lengthy discussions or troubleshooting sessions, and end up not getting to higher-priority work that affects many players. Because of this, I've made the decision to primarily communicate through support tickets and forum direct messages. I understand this may not be convenient for some of you, but for the overall progress and timely resolution of pressing bugs, it's the most time-efficient approach. I may appear absent in-game, but in reality I'm often online under a different alias.

As for support tickets and player reports — every single one triggers a notification on my personal phone and smartwatch. We don't miss anything you post. If I see a significant issue come in, I reply as soon as possible or get online to investigate. Since server launch we've received 714 support tickets, with the majority now closed and resolved. However, some are still in an open state. I apologise if a ticket remaining open made you feel like it was going into the void — it definitely is not.

My goal for this week is to clear every remaining support ticket backlog: turning what's needed into bug fixes, logging suggestions, or taking whatever other action is required.

I hope support over the past week hasn't been a let-down. It's been about trying to be effective with the time I have available and prioritising issues that affect the most players. As we resolve the pressing bugs and make the essential quality-of-life improvements, player support quality will increase and everyone will get more one-on-one attention.

Thank you for your patience and continued communication on the forums, in-game, and through support tickets.

I don't think he mentioned anything to do with rates in terms of XP.
