The next big chapter for the server is almost here, and we want you involved in shaping it. The 2nd Community Vote is open now and covers the decisions that matter most for what comes next: when we launch P2P, how the content rolls out, and the gameplay changes that have been generating the most discussion across the forums.

The vote is split into a few sections so it's easy to work through:

  • P2P Launch - Release timing, whether content drops all at once or in phases, dragon items, separate worlds, account sharing, and what you're most excited to see.
  • Wilderness & Combat - Level 0 Wilderness and ranged auto-follow.
  • Staking - Improvements you'd like to see, and whether quest-skip items should be available for staking builds.
  • Shops & Supplies - What to do about shop camping.
  • HiScores - Whether non-combat stats should be allowed to be hidden.
  • Server Experience - Overall satisfaction, staff support, and open feedback on bugs, issues, and ideas for what comes next.

Why your input matters

We've seen a lot of detailed, thoughtful posts on the forums over the past few weeks. From staking proposals to dragon item discussions to launch timing debates, there's been no shortage of ideas. This vote is how we turn those discussions into decisions. Even if you've already shared your thoughts on the forums, voting still matters. It tells us how the wider community feels, not just the most active posters.

Does the questionnaire cover all major issues?

Not all of them. I've focused this vote on the topics I need answers to right now for immediate decisions and planning. There are still several other discussions on the forums I want to weigh in on, and my goal is to get to those tomorrow.

Free-form feedback fields

I've again included a few free-form fields where you can share your thoughts without picking from preset options. The last questionnaire's open-ended answers were full of valuable input, so if you have the time, please share what's on your mind there too. You can also come back and edit your responses any time until the vote closes.

How long it takes

About 5 to 10 minutes depending on how much you write in the open-feedback sections. Most questions are quick multiple-choice. The open-ended ones are there if you want to go deeper.

The vote will be open until end of the week. Results and decisions will be posted back to the forum once we've had a chance to review everything.

EDIT: Extended the vote to end May 5th with 5th being last day to vote.

Thanks for being part of this. See you in-game!

why would you even suggest voting on not been able to hide your skills? do we really have grown man moaning about it. its never been a issues in all these years, why now. what negative impact does it have on the game? or is it catering for certain folk? drip feeding folk p2p? just release it in one go if its done, if not dont.

Being able to hide stats makes the races to first 99s etc less exciting and people can't follow it.
It also enables some stupid strategies for buyable skills in that competition.
I would believe that is the main point why there is voting regarding non-combat skills.

Not sure thou why combat skills needs to be visible always. Maybe there is a fear of some stat exploitation for stakers?

That is a very good point to raise @padwanrev2 and that is exactly why the question is in this questionnaire!

Indeed RSCR had option to hide character completely off hiscores forever. But since the server launch we've had numerous support tickets raised asking about changing this option to hide only combat stats and display other stats and statistic. People want transparency where they are exactly in the race to the top in highscores levels and other statistics they care about.

I am personally unsure about this change and this is why I am not making the decision myself but allow the community to weigh in on this question.

Why have highscores at all then? Highscores are there to compare yourself to others. At the moment it says I am nr 2 in mining, but for all I know I could actually be nr 10, because several people are hidden. If you think I shouldn't care, then go ahead and completely remove the highscores, as they serve no other purpose.

Saying a grown man should not moan about it is not an argument.

my issue is..taking time away from productive other work they could be getting on with. remove them or make it where you cant hide skills? do u honestly think it changes my game play? to anyone who is getting the sweats..not knowing my stats. they are unhiden. and to anyone thinkin..im trying to beat anyone to any skill or max blah blah. give your head a shake. i stay in my own lane and in no race with anyone.

so in the next breath, what if people make tickets and say..i want to know the other persons stats staking as its not fair, we need to know what stats are compared to mine before i decide to stake..its so immature and childish to say the least. the fact any grown man could make a ticket about not been able to hide skills..sums up the community in a nutshell. some really good genuie folk..but god dam some braindeads too.

They want to hide their high scores because they're account and/or botting.  Simple.

pkers and stakers have been hiding stats for a variety of reasons forever, almost all legitimate

i dont see what the problem is with skillers hiding stats either. if knowing or not knowing someone elses smithing or herblaw levels or whatever is really important to you, thats probably a you issue. there are bigger fish to fry

exactly. but then again it sums certain players up to be frank.

Then It's a "me issue", and a lot of other skillers who actually go for the top slots. I think this question was more aimed toward front pagers (if you are one you know).

Yes, they should not be able to hide non-combat. This becomes especially relevant when racing for skill caps, the highscores is a large driving factor to grind to be the best.

The exception is mining, I'd be ok with hiding mining specifically- because some Pkers wish to hide rune miners for obvious reasons

if you need to keep tabs on other players to keep yourself motivated..then go play something esle. the example you gave for the reason not to be able to hide is a weak statement. it just sums up the mindset of so called grown men, thinking they still in 2001.

It doesn't sum up any specific mindset. Many people are competitive and that drives them. Competing against somebody else on rsc hiscores is very understandable.
