I am deeply concerned about the new ip rules for several reasons. I’ve put a lot of thought into this post to ensure that every type of player from new comers to veterans is considered. I ask that we keep this a serious debate, please refrain from trolling so we can have a constructive conversation about the future of the server.
Changing from 5ip to 2ip completely kills the 3v3 "Char War" meta, which is arguably the highest skill floor in RSC.
Beyond the skill of 3v3 wars, lowering the ip limit to 2 actually encourages massive ganking.
In the old 5ip meta, a skilled solo player using 3 accounts could effectively fight back against a disorganized team of 5 separate people. It was the ultimate equalizer. By capping us at 2 ip's, you are handing the Wilderness over to 'safety in numbers.' Now, a solo player has zero chance of defending themselves against a large group of individual players.
The Wilderness will just become a numbers game where the biggest Discord call always wins. We are trading mechanical skill for 'who has more friends,' which is the definition of killing the solo multi playstyle.
One of the biggest misconceptions is that ip limits stop ganking. In reality, it does the opposite. In a 5ip environment, a skilled player can use multi to defend against a larger group of players. It allows a solo veteran to 'even the odds.'
With a 2ip cap, you have removed the only tool a solo pker has to fight back. Now, if a team of 5 shows up, you are mathematically guaranteed to lose because you can no longer 'multi' to match their damage. This change doesn't protect solo players, it just ensures that big teams can gank with zero fear of a counter attack.
I want to be clear, I completely understand the perspective of the single client PKers, I was one of them years ago. My own brother just returned to the game for the first time since 2004, and his first question was after pking, 'Why am I getting jumped by 3+ every time I step into the Wilderness? He represents a part of our player base returning players who want a classic experience without getting 'ganked'
However, we shouldn't have to choose between him and the veteran multi PKers. If we stick to a global 2ip rule, we risk losing the 40+ multi-PKers who will simply go back to other servers where their playstyle isn't restricted. Losing that many dedicated players is a massive hit for a server in 2026.
By creating 1ip restricted zones alongside unrestricted multi zones, we make RSCR2 a home for everyone. My brother can enjoy his 1v1 fights in one area, and the veterans can keep the high skill 'char war' meta alive in another. We need to accommodate all playstyles to thrive, rather than picking one and pushing the other away.
If new players feel overwhelmed, they don't have to quit the server, they just move to the ip restricted zone. This keeps them on the server while they learn.
Thank you for your attention of this matter, RB.
