Dragon Weapons
BiS gear should feel as rewarding as possible.I don't really see the point in removing dragon weapons from the shops.
It sounds good at first, players have to grind for it, but... which mobs? How many of the mobs are you going to put in training spots so there isn't constant complaining? How many people are going to have 5 accounts on these mobs all day every day?
Seems like all this would do is create an artificial, high price which would eventually plummet.
Furthermore, removing the quest reqs for dragon weapons takes away something *special* about the items, which I'm not sure being a mega rare drop makes up for in the long run the way so many of us grind this game.
I'd rather see the price be 10x in the shops (could even 10x the HA value) to keep a baseline that feels more in line with being the best weapons in the game. Also, this game sure could use a
Gold Sink
The more gold you can sink, the more value our gold holds. If the economy lost a cool mil or two every time a dragon weapon was purchased that would certainly help. Now, I didn't see how RSCR1 played out, but I've seen servers where gp eventually becomes worthless, and barter is king. Shop buyables (that people actually use) help maintain gp integrity in trading. Maybe even consider upping the price of shops in members areas. We already know the shops are going to be camped to hell, at least sink more gold where you can. Think of what you'd be willing to pay per vial to level up your herblaw...
Maybe that Edge ferry needs to start costing some coin. It could be removed directly from a players bank if they don't have it in inventory, or just make them use the banker nearby, whatever. Maybe find places to add other, more expensive ferries in the members' areas.
Gold losing value would eventually be a problem anyway, but especially with
Thieving
An awesome skill with iffy implications.Maybe consider altering thieving loot tables. Could add some more skilling loot or at least reduce the gp loots.
Maybe find other, creative ways to make leveling up thieving (and agility for that matter) worth it. Of course people will be split over
Custom Content
May be necessary for the long haul...Everyone wants Vanilla Classic until they don't. Until the economy stagnates, until everyone's maxed, until we're all just basically ironmaning it. Also, let's be honest. We're here, not on a 1x server.
Maybe just always take a vote before adding anything custom. I do think it will eventually have to come.
I think a decent, starter gold sink should really be considered even before members drops. Throw a tracker on the main page so we can see how much gp is being pulled. Regardless of any decisions made, I'm looking forward to seeing how this all plays out.
